He Ako Hiringa - Brand Development

We were tasked by The Health Media to bring a very special project to life. They needed to develop a brand to help eliminate the problem of inequitable access to funded medicines, so that all New Zealanders can reach their health potential.

A task such as this can be seen as daunting, so it was important that the viewer came away with a sense of optimism for future health outcomes in Aotearoa.

The first job was to develop a name that could convey the feelings of learning, energy, perseverance, determination and vitality. This needed to be balanced with feelings of calm, scientific establishment and humanistic energy. Thus, He Ako Hiringa was born.

The initial output was a set of brand guidelines for The Health Media to use to create their own materials from. The visual brand elements drew upon dynamic flowing interlinked forms to create unity, life, movement and connection. The colour palette makes use of bright vibrant colours inspired by the energy of coastal New Zealand.

Typefaces use fonts created by award-winning local typographers. The typefaces are paired in such a way so as to create a sense of calm establishment, that when complemented by elegant detailing, gives it a sense of life, movement and playful elegance.

We are excited to see the vision brought to life, with the initial outputs including a launch ad which works to put the onus of this great responsibility at the feet of each and every health care professional.
