GET Flu fit

Whilst the focus of the nation (and the world) has been on COVID-19, the threat of other diseases – such as influenza - has not disappeared. 

A very unique landscape

Typically, the influenza season sees around 500 deaths and fills hospital beds with those suffering complications, we simply could not afford that in the middle of a pandemic.

With borders beginning to open, the potential to bring in new strains of flu increases. But unlike covid, there will be no lockdown for flu outbreaks or screening for symptoms, so once it is in, there’s really nothing to stop it’s spread – except immunisation. 

Keeping it simple

We needed a strategy that was motivating and could reach as far as possible.

The idea, STAY FLU FIT is a simple, yet positive catchy message – a reminder that like many things you need to maintain your level of protection. To ensure we could reach as many people as possible, we focussed on ideas that were so simple that they could work inside a fifteen second timeslot.

Fifteens can be a hard ask in healthcare, but the payoff can be worth it when you consider how many people you can reach with a simple message.
